Valentine Chocolate martini for two – under 5 minutes

Quick MealParty FoodNo Cooking
This recipe for a chocolate martini is so simple and addictive that you would find yourself  making them endlessly upon request of your loved ones.  It is not a clear martini but a very obviously chocolate looking martini to hold true to its name. This recipe does not call for cream like most chocolate cocktails, there by keeping it heart friendly.

Valentine's special chocolate martiniType of Food: Cocktail, dessert drink
Makes: 2 servings
Pots and pans: Cocktail shaker, microwave safe coffee mug, microwave or stove top

2/3 cup of chocolate syrup (like Hershey or other favorites – available in the dessert/ice cream aisle)
1/3 milk  (2% milk)
1/2 cup vodka
1/2 cup baileys irish cream liquer
1/3 cup Amareto (almond flavored liquor) or Kahlua (coffee liquor)

How to make
In a microwave warm up the chocolate syrup and milk in a coffee mug  until the chocolate syrup and milk are completely homogeneous with each other( 30 seconds – 1 minute).  You could do this on a stove top too on medium low heat.  Let this cool to room temperature.  In the mean time, fill up a cocktail shaker half the way up with ice.  For each serving pour 1/4 cup of vodka, 1/4 cup of baileys,  2 Tbsp of Amareto or Kahlua and 1/2 cup of the chocolate mixture.  Shake the mixture and pour it in Matrini glasses that are rimmed with chocolate sugar*.

Tips,Trick and alternatives
You could prepare this martini with fresh made chocolate syrup by melting chocolate pieces with milk and cooling this mixture.  Check the sweetness of this mixture and if you would like it more sweet add simple syrup or mix in some sugar and warm it up for the sugar to melt.

How to serve
Check our post for rimming cocktail serveware and serve this on chocolotae sugar rimmed martini galsses.  You could sprinkle shaved chocolate on top.

CranApple Cosmopolitan

Quick MealParty FoodNo Cooking

Cosmopolitans have become a stereotype associated with a sophisticated drink for women.  But this version of cosmo attempts to disassociate itself from a pink drink and associate itself with a brown color  to appeal to all genders.

Cran apple cosmopolitan cocktail

Kind of food: Drink
How long: 5 min

For 1 serving
6 tsps vodka
1.5 Tbsp triple-sec 0r cointreau (expensive) or any other orange liquor
1 Tbsp cranberry juice
1 Tbsp apple juice
2 tsps lime juice

Formula for a big batch*
1.5  measure vodka
1.5 measures Tbsp triple-sec 0r cointreau (expensive) or any other orange liquor
1/2 measure cranberry juice
1/2 measure apple juice
1/3 measure lime juice

How to make
You could lay out the ingredients with cocktail shaker, a bucket of ice, measuring cups, spoons and serving glasses.  Assign one of your friends or family members to be the bar attender.  Print just the ingredient (for 1 serving) section of this post on a index card and hand it over to the designee.  The designated bar attender would then mix the cocktail, shake it with ice in shaker and pour.

Or you could make a batch of the cranapple cosmo in a pitcher and leave it with a cocktail shaker, a bucket of ice and serving glasses for your guests to help themselves.

Garnish choices:  One maraschino cherry inserted in tooth pick per serving or a twist of orange peel per serving.

Tips, trick and alternatives:
If you decide to leave a print of the recipe, it could get soiled in a party easily.  Instead of going through the hazzle of laminating it , place the recipe card in one corner of a sanwich size ziploc bag.
Trim off  the excess of the ziploc bag and seal the open edge with tape for a quick fix laminate.
*While making for a big batch use one measure of any cup and use the same cup to measure all the other ingredients for the entire recipe.
Please look up our post on Moctktail cosmos for a non-alcoholic version of this recipe.
